Despite Rain, Obama and Springsteen Rally Ohio Crowd

From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(CLEVELAND) - Bruce Springsteen and a crowd of thousands is a formula for a successful event, but Barack Obama's rally tonight did not go off without a hitch.

Pouring rain came down about 10 minutes into the speech, just as Obama began to ridicule John McCain for being on the receiving end of Vice President Cheney's praise.

"You notice what happened when I started talking about Dick Cheney! Now – that's all right. We've been through an 8-year storm but a new day is dawning," Obama said and soldiered through the rest of his speech.

"Sunshine is on the way. We just got two more days of these clouds," he added.

Bruce Springsteen was already on stage when Obama's motorcade pulled up to the Cleveland Mall. Springsteen, a long time Democratic supporter, gave Obama a ringing endorsement between songs.

"I don't' know about you, but I want my country back, I want my dream back, I want my America back!," Springsteen said in a subdued tone. "Now is the time to stand with Barack Obama and Joe Biden, roll up our sleeves, and come."

Obama paid "The Boss" back for the remarks by giving him a plug on iTunes.

While speaking about his tax plan and givning more money to the middle class, Obama said, "If you've got a little money in your pocket, that means the products and services that businesses give. That that means you can buy, you can on iTunes and get the latest Bruce Springsteen iTunes."
