Department of Energy Buys Security
Isotec announced that it has been awarded a contract by the US Department of Energy. While the specifics of the contract were not released, Isotec makes integrated security systems for facilities and it can be assumed that this is to provide said systems to various DoE facilities across the country. Isotec is a subsidiary of World Am and the press release is reported at TradingMarkets.com.
Since 9/11 the US has invested millions in security for all Federal locations and many other facilities. Due to that attack power plants, dams and other energy production sites have had their physical security enhanced. The Army has even bought systems from FLIR Inc to provide surveillance and security of their bases in Iraq and Afghanistan. One assumes that those types of installations are not necessarily fixed, allowing the FLIR product to be moved around as well.
