Richards, who has reportedly tried to shield her daughters, 7-year-old Sam and 5-year-old Lola, from the media storm that has followed Sheen recently, has now decided to increase her security detail, according to Popeater.com.

Sheen's tweet that allegedly suggested he might harm Richards over a dispute involving their dogs, appears to have prompted her decision to increase security, the site reports sources as saying.

The couple divorced in 2006 after four years of marriage. Sheen had possession of their two pugs, but according to TMZ once Richards heard he was mistreating the dogs, she had them removed from his home.

Sheen took to Twitter to vent his feelings about her custody of their dogs.

"We must bombard with Warlock Napalm, that traitor and loser whore #DUH-neese POOR-ards. a vile kidnapper and now dog thief. Hate. SBW," Sheen tweeted Monday.

One of the dogs reportedly died of malnutrition shortly after being removed from Sheen's home.
