Dems Name 14 New Red-to-Blue House Candidates

Fourteen new Democratic House challengers were named Wednesday to the party's Red-to-Blue program. Run by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the program provides significant resources for Democratic candidates challenging vulnerable Republicans. The new batch increases the total number to 37 candidates. In 2006, the program's candidates were on the good end of an average of $400,000 each from the committee.

The committee also released the names of 20 "emerging" candidates who didn't quite qualify for Red to Blue but are "generat[ing] excitement in their districts." Both lists after the jump.
