Democrats To Convene November Issues Conference

House Democrats will huddle in Washington for a half-day issues conference next month to discuss Iraq, energy policy, funding for veterans in the annual spending bills and chart the schedule for 2008, according to Democratic leadership aide.

The Nov. 13 conference will be a five-hour session for Democratic leaders to discuss their priorities with the rank-and-file. The itinerary and scheduled speakers remain in flux, but the session will not distract from the congressional schedule because the House won't convene until that night.
