Del. man indicted in murder of wife, missing since Jan.
SMYRNA, Del. -- A Kent County grand jury has indicted a Delaware man in the murder of his wife, who has been missing since Jan. 10., reports CBS Philly.
Cortez Hamilton, 32, was already charged with deadly weapon possession during commission of a felony and two counts of endangering a child's welfare, and is reportedly now facing a murder charge in connection with the disappearance of 35-year-old Keisha Hamilton.
Though Keisha Hamilton is still considered a missing person, authorities say they believe they can prove her husband killed her, reports the News Journal.
According to the paper, Hamilton was arrested in Indiana Jan. 10 after an Amber Alert had been issued for his wife and two children -- a 4-year-old girl and an infant boy - who were last seen the day before at the couple's suburban Dover home.
Delaware police alerted Indiana authorities that Hamilton might be driving with the children to his native St. Louis, Missouri. Troopers spotted the car, found the children safe inside, and arrested Hamilton, reports the paper.
But there was no sign of Keisha Hamilton, despite a massive ground search in Delaware. Authorities tell the paper that evidence found in the couple's home supports the murder charge, but they wouldn't describe it.
Keisha Hamilton's sister, Janell Foster, told the paper that she felt Keisha had been afraid of her husband before she disappeared.
"My sister had texted me the night before [she disappeared] and told me that if anything happened to her, have the police check Cortez. He was acting strange," Foster reportedly said.
Hamilton has since been extradited back to Delaware, where he awaits an arraignment on the new murder charge.
