Defense begins in murder trial of ex-U.Va. lacrosse player George Huguely
(CBS/AP) CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Attorneys for former University of Virginia lacrosse player George Huguely V are returning to court today defend him against charges he killed his ex-girlfriend Yeardley Love.

Huguely's lawyers are due back in court Thursday to continue chipping away at medical testimony that prosecutors say implicates the Chevy Chase, Md., man in the May 2010 Love's slaying.
The suburban Baltimore woman and Huguely had a volatile relationship that prosecutors say ended in Love's death when Huguely battered her in her Charlottesville apartment.
An autopsy concluded she died of blunt force trauma. Defense attorneys presented their first witnesses on Wednesday after the prosecution rested its case.
Huguely has pleaded innocent to charges of first-degree murder and other counts.
