Police Chief Tommy Boyd told WNBC-TV that a borough officer saw Cortese, 25, "a little intoxicated" and standing in the middle of a street, slapping passing cars.

According to NJ.com, Cortese was at Spicy Cantina, a Mexican bar and grill, with a few other cast members Sunday afternoon. She apparently left the bar and began dancing in the intersection of Summer Avenue and Ocean Terrace, impeding the flow of traffic, according to Detective Steve Korman.

She was then taken to the local police headquarters and later released to her mother.

MTV is currently filming the sixth season of "Jersey Shore," and its cast members have kept the Seaside Police busy. In August 2010, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was arrested on disorderly conduct charges after beachgoers claimed the reportedly drunk Polizzi was bothering them, according to USA Today.

Cast member Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was arrested for aggravated assault in September 2009 after beating a man while walking home from a bar. In July 2011, the New York Daily News reported that a judge agreed to drop the charges against him if he stayed out of trouble.
