Declutter Your Gmail Mailbox
Running out of Gmail space? It happens to everyone eventually. Web Worker Daily offers four quick tips on freeing up extra space in your Gmail mailbox. For example:
Clear out the old stuff. I personally don't need any emails older than 6 months, so I did a search with the "before" operator: "before:2007/01/01″ (without the quotes, of course). I also added some "not" operators for people whose emails I don't want to delete, such as "-from:eva" so that I don't delete emails from my wife. Then I went through and deleted just about every email in the search results.Needless to say, this little tutorial also teaches you a bit about Gmail search operators -- bonus! The author also recommends clearing out mail with large attachments, getting rid of pseudo-junk mail, and taking a hard look at the stuff you're saving and asking yourself if you really need to save it. After all, with only 2.9GB of available storage, you gotta make a few hard choices.
