Decapitated and burned body found in vacant Detroit building
(CBS/AP) DETROIT - Police say a decapitated and burned body has been found in a vacant school on Detroit's west side.
The Detroit Free Press report a tip led investigators to the body about 2:30 p.m. Sunday inside the building, which is boarded up and covered with graffiti.
Police say the remains were so badly burned and decomposed that officers couldn't determine the victim's gender.
According to the paper, the building used to be Ruddiman Jr. High School.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office plans to work to identify the remains. Tips about the case are being sought by police.
