"Deadliest Catch" star in intensive care following attack

Everett, Wash. — One of the starts of the Discovery Channel television series “Deadliest Catch” is recovering in a hospital after suffering a severe beating, reports CBS affiliate KIRO.

Jake Harris suffered a cracked skull and brain trauma in the Saturday evening attack, according to his brother Josh Harris, who shared details of the alleged assault in videos posted to Facebook.

Josh Harris said his brother was “jumped” at around 8 p.m. and is in an intensive care unit. He said Jake Harris was beaten and thrown out of a moving vehicle along a highway in Everett.

Police have confirmed that Jake Harris was found along a highway, but have not been verified details of the attack.

Jake Harris at first declined medical treatment, but was later brought by relatives to a hospital.

His brother said the victim was robbed and beaten by a couple who offered him a ride home from the Quil Ceda Creek Casino, near Marysville.

Police told KIRO that the couple have not been identified as persons of interest in the case.

Jake Harris’ past struggles with drug abuse were chronicled on “Deadliest Catch.” He was listed in satisfactory condition on Monday.
