Day 94: Obama Meets With Credit Card Execs

On his ninety-fourth day in office, President Obama met with a number of executives from credit card companies. The president said he plans to change the law so that consumers no longer face confusing fine print or sudden increases in their interest rates or fees.

"I trust that those in the industry who want to act responsibly will engage with us in a constructive fashion, and that we're going to get this done in short order," he said.

The president also attended a Holocaust Remembrance program at the Rotunda in the Capitol, where he called for the world not to be silent when similar atrocities occur in the future.

"Today and every day we have an opportunity as well as an obligation to confront these scourges, to fight the impulse to turn the channel when we see images that disturb us or wrap ourselves in the false comfort that others sufferings are not our own," he said.
