MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (CBS/AP/WWJ) The 62-year-old president and chief executive of a Michigan bank mysteriously disappeared Sunday in Mt. Clemens, about 25 miles outside of Detroit, according to police.

David Widlak, of Grosse Pointe Farms, was last seen early Sunday evening at Community Central Bank Corp. Inc.'s administrative offices, said Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel Monday.

"Right now we are trying to look at certain things and eliminate possibilities," said Hackel, according to CBS affiliate WWJ Newsradio. "We know he had to leave the building somehow, he is obviously not there, and he did not leave with his vehicle, so we're going to have to eliminate the possibility of him being in or around the close proximity to the bank."

Authorities say a maintenance worker saw Widlak's car in the parking lot and when the worker proceeded to the executive's office around 7:00 a.m. Monday he found it in disarray. Hackel says the bank office where Widlak was last seen is now considered a crime scene.

Widlak was expected at the bank over the weekend, but his wife said he failed to contact her at an expected time, reports WWJ.

The FBI has joined the Macomb County Sheriff's office in the investigation. Sheriff's investigators have checked his cell phone records and are inspecting financial transactions.

Business was reportedly on the decline at the Community Central Bank. According to The Detroit News, the bank had a $13 million loss the first half of this year.
