David Viens, LA chef who killed wife and then cooked body, scheduled to be sentenced today

(CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES - David Viens, a Los Angeles chef who told police he boiled his wife's body for four days is scheduled to be sentenced Friday morning for his murder conviction.

Viens, 49, was convicted of murder in September 2012 for the 2009 killing of his wife, 39-year-old Dawn Viens. Her body was never found.

In a recorded interrogation from a hospital bed presented by prosecutors during the trial, Viens can be heard saying he cooked his wife's body for four days to get rid of evidence. Authorities said he jumped off an 80-foot cliff after learning he was a suspect in her disappearance.

Viens, who attended trial in a wheelchair, could get 15 years to life in prison.
