David & Courteney: Opposites Attract

Maybe the saying is true and opposites do attract. Take Courteney Cox and her husband David Arquette for instance.

The former "Friends" star is a trendsetter, always stunning on the red carpet and, well, he's had his red carpet train wrecks.

"We have completely different tastes, different ways to express ourselves, different ways to live. It's amazing that we coexist ... the office is a nice place to agree to disagree," says Cox, 42, the star of the new FX series "Dirt," in which she plays vampy tabloid magazine editor, Lucy Spiller.

In the February issue of Redbook, the actress, and mother to 2-year-old daughter Coco, talks about marriage, motherhood and her new TV venture. She says that going back to work on a television set was a well considered move.

2"I waited awhile after Coco was born to work," she says. "I had no intention of doing a television show. But once I read the script, I thought, 'Oh, I just have to do it because it's so good.' It's so rare that you read something you connect to."

To prep for the dark series (which she and her hubby produce through their production company, Coquette) Cox immersed herself in tabloid journalism. Arquette recently told Howard Stern that tabloid magazine's infiltrated their home.

"The show is not an attempt to get back at the paparazzi," says Cox, who along with her husband, has been hounded by photographers for years. "It just makes good television; it's so salacious. It'll be interesting to see how the paparazzi take it. I hope they'll be able to have a sense of humor about it."

The February issue of Redbook goes on sale Jan. 16.
