Beckham was among the guests at a reception for the royal newlyweds at the Hancock Park home of the British Consulate General on Friday evening, July 8, 2011, in Los Angeles. It was the first day of the royals' three-day visit to California that also included a charity polo match, a black-tie fundraiser for BAFTA, a tour of an inner-city arts program for kids and a special program for veterans.

A little more than 24 hours later, Beckham's wife, the designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, gave birth to their fourth child and first daughter. Harper Seven Beckham was born just after 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, July 10, in L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz. The couple also are the parents of three boys, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

Beckham and his wife were among the 2,000 wedding guests in Westminster Abbey on April 29 when Prince William married the former Kate Middleton in what was the splashiest royal event in three decades.
