(CBS/AP/WCBS) NEW YORK - Daniella Mannino, daughter of the director of the district attorney's office services in Brooklyn, was found stabbed to death in the bathtub of her boyfriend's Brooklyn apartment, police say.

Police charged 36-year-old Brian Sohtz with murder.

Sohtz was arrested in Suffolk County, police say. He was headed there when he called a relative who in turn called the police, according to the NYPD.

Daniella Mannino, 34, was found at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

She reportedly has a 12-year-old daughter.

People who knew the victim are stunned, reports CBS station WCBS.

"She was great. I knew her my whole life. Every day we'd talk about life, you know? Good mother, good person," one acquaintance told WCBS.

Sandy Silverstein, a spokesman for Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes, says Shotz is expected to be arraigned Wednesday on a second-degree murder charge.

He says the victim is the daughter of Joseph Mannino, who is director of the district attorney's office services department.

Hynes will seek a special prosecutor in the case.
