NEW YORK (CBS) After earning the lowest score last week with a lackluster jive, Bristol Palin returned to the dance floor on Monday's "Dancing with the Stars" and wowed the judges with her rock-and-roll inspired tango to Orianthi's "According to You."

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said her performance was "ridiculously amazing," while judge Bruno Tonioli dubbed it as her "best performance" yet in the competition.

The 19-year-old scored 23 points out of a possible 30  with partner Mark Ballas - their highest of the season.

However Palin's comeback wasn't enough to surpass singer Brandy, who for the second week in row landed at the top of the leaderboard with partner Maksim Chemerkovskiy. Their fierce tango routine was well praised by the judges and scored 26 points, including 9s from judge Len Goodman and Tonioli.

Behind Brandy was Audrina Patridge and partner Tony Dovolani and Rick Fox and partner Cheryl Burke. Both couples earned 24 points for their routines.

Falling to the bottom this week was former NFL star Kurt Warner and his partner Anna Trebunskaya. The judges weren't too impressed with their paso doble to "The Final Countdown" and gave them only 18 points for their routine.

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer were in the middle, earning 23 points for a tango to Adam Lambert's "If I Had You." Behind them was Jennifer Grey and partner Derek Hough. After spending weeks on top, the two stumbled on their paso routine and earned just  20 points from the judges.

After the couples finished their routines, they participated in a rock-and-roll dance marathon, in which couples dance until the judges pick them off.  Kurt and Anna were first to get tapped out, followed by Bristol and Mark, Rick and Cheryl, Kyle and Lacey, Audrina and Tony, and Jennifer and Derek.  Brandy and Maksim were the last remaining couple and declared the champs, adding  an additional 10 points to their score.
