Dallas Serial Rapist: Authorities seek suspect in connection to at least seven attacks
(CBS/AP) DALLAS - Police say they are searching for a suspected armed serial rapist and robber blamed for at least seven attacks in South Dallas since late June, according to CBS DFW.
Police on Tuesday night announced details of the search for a gunman in the sexual assault of women who were walking in the early morning hours.
The station reports police said the suspect held the victims at gunpoint then forced them to secluded areas where he sexually assaulted and robbed them.
Police say five attacks happened in the last two weeks, with the latest rape occurring Sunday.
According to the station, victims described the suspect as a black man in his mid 20's to 30 years old, weighing about 200 lbs. and 5'6'' to 5'11'' tall. The man wears a mask or bandana, and gold-rimmed prescription glasses. In each of the attacks the suspect has reportedly worn a cloth over his face.
Police reportedly said the suspect may have driven from the attacks in a gray four-door Honda Civic or Volvo.
Maj. Jeff Cotner advises the public to use care when walking in the target area near Fair Park, where the State Fair of Texas runs Sept. 27 through Oct. 20. Patrols are being increased.
Crime Stoppers has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the man.
