Crew Win Lottery For Rights To Korey Veeder

NEW YORK (AP) - The Columbus Crew have won a weighted lottery for Major League Soccer rights to 19-year-old American defender Korey Veeder.

Veeder played for minor league Crystal Palace Baltimore last year and was at last month's MLS combine. The right back is part of the U.S. under-20 player pool.

Columbus (19.31 percent) had the third-best chance of winning the lottery behind Toronto (45.52 percent) and Seattle (24.83 percent), with the Crew ahead of Colorado (10.34 percent).
