NEW YORK (CBS) Looks as though actor Harvey Keitel is wanted for an office job - on "The Office" that is.

An executive producer of the NBC comedy series is reaching out to the "Pulp Fiction" and "Mean Streets" actor to be a "Bad Lieutenant" replacement for the exiting Steve Carell.

"[Harvey Keitel]'s probably the only guy who can do it and he's doing TV now," executive producer Paul Lieberstein told E! Online on Thursday.

Only thing, Keitel isn't aware of "The Office" producers' wishes, yet.

"I haven't started any talks with his people, but Harvey would do a great job - a very different energy," Lieberstein says. "And we don't want to bring in another Michael, having someone play a very similar character because we have such a high regard for Steve."

Since Carell announced his wishes to leave the "The Office" at the end of this upcoming season of the series, several names have been bandied about to replace Michael Scott.

Other notable names in the pot include Ellen DeGeneres' partner and "Arrested Development" star Portia de Rossi, Rhys Darby of "Flight of the Conchords" and "Tropic Thunder" co-star Danny McBride.
