Coroner rules Pa. woman was strangled in her hospital bed

(CBS/AP) CARLISLE, Pa. - A coroner has determined an 82-year-old woman who died at a central Pennsylvania hospital in February was strangled to death with a cord in her bed.

The suspicious death was reported at Holy Spirit Hospital in East Pennsboro Township on Feb. 28. Cumberland County Coroner Charles Hall said this week that an investigation has determined the woman had an oxygen and blood pressure cord wrapped around her neck and a pillow on her face.

Authorities say they do not know if the strangulation death was a suicide.  The woman's name hasn't been released.

Authorities say hospital staff found nothing unusual when they checked on the woman at 3 a.m., but found her dead an hour and a half later.
