Coroner: Pa. man shot family, turned gun on self

MATHER, Pa. - A coroner in southwestern Pennsylvania said a man shot and killed his wife and two young children before fatally shooting himself at their home.

Authorities say all four members of the Teagarden family, including an 8-year-old girl and a 22-month-old boy, were found dead Sunday night inside their home in Morgan Township, about 20 miles from the West Virginia line.

Greene County Coroner Gregory Behanna said 42-year-old Kevin Teagarden shot himself and that 40-year-old Tammy and the couple's children were each killed by a single gunshot.

Kevin Teagarden's mother tells the Washington Observer-Reporter her son's marriage was unraveling and he was worried his wife would take the children.

A relative of Tammy Teagarden called police Sunday after going to the house because she failed to show up for work.
