(CBS) Corey Feldman is slated to try some ice skates on for size. The 40-year-old actor, who rose to fame in the '80s, has joined the British celebrity figure skating competition show "Dancing on Ice."

"The wait is over !!!!!! If you have been wondering why Corey has taking up short-term residence in London wait no further he is a contestant on "Dancing on Ice," revealed a post on Feldman's website.

"I have no fear when it comes to confrontation," Feldman said in a statement. "But when it comes to a paper cut I'll cry all day! I have a very low threshold for pain I am a little wimpy when it comes to that stuff. I really am scared of hurting myself."

The series launches Sunday on Britain's ITV channel, but U.S. fans can keep tabs on the show, as Feldman's web team plans to post clips online.

This isn't Feldman's first stab at reality TV. In 2007, he starred in the reality series, "The Two Coreys," alongside his good friend Haim, who died three years later.

Feldman became a child star in 1980s, starring in "The Goonies," "Stand by Me," "The Lost Boys," "Dream a Little Dream" and "License to Drive."
