Cops: Son stabs elderly father to death in D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – A double stabbing in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. left an 88-year-old man dead Sunday morning after what police described as a domestic altercation, reports CBS DC.
Leroi Elliott was stabbed to death in his home around 6:30 a.m. Sunday after a dispute with his son, who has been charged in his death, according to police. The victim's wife, 81-year-old Vaughan Elliott, was also wounded with knife cuts and hospitalized. She is in critical condition, reports CBS DC.
CBS DC reports that the son, 56-year-old Bradford Nelson Elliott, also lived in the home. He was taken to the hospital for hand injuries.
Police say Bradford Elliott had a history of mental illness and has
been charged with first-degree murder. When officers arrived at the home, police said Elliott answered the door with blood-soaked hands, reports the Washington Post.
Authorities say they found Leroi Elliott unconscious in an upstairs bedroom. He suffered an undetermined number of stab wounds.
