Cops say drunk dad took kids on 100 mph chase

(CBS/WOIO) CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio - An Ohio man is charged with child endangerment and more, after police say he led them on a 100 mph car chase, driving drunk, with his two children in the backseat.

Police say 36-year-old Bobby L. Kennedy of Akron was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs Monday night when police clocked him doing 107 mph in a 55 zone, according to CBS affiliate WOIO. 

Kennedy reportedly refused to stop and fled in his vehicle from Cuyahoga Falls into Akron, bringing his 5 and 15-year-old children along for the ride. The car chase ended when Kennedy ran out of gas and took off on foot.

WOIO reports that Kennedy was then apprehended by an Akron K-9 unit.

Police say Kennedy faces charges including driving under the influence, fleeing and eluding capture, child endangerment and driving with a suspended license, WOIO reports.
