Cops: Pa. man, 61, stabbed 30 times at bus stop for no reason

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers is looking for a brazen attacker who stabbed a 61-year-old man 30 times, reports CBS Pittsburgh

According to the station, it happened on Sunday, May 17 at 1 a.m., when the man was trying to catch a bus from Wilkinsburg to Monroeville and the assailant came out of nowhere.

Allegheny County Police Detective Robert Opferman told the station, "...It was an unprovoked attack."

The call for help came from the Village at Pennwood Senior Living Home. When medics arrived, they found the man had been stabbed dozens of times.

The victim told police the attacker was an African American male with a light complexion, who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

"We're looking for the public's help in case someone may have been in the area, may have heard or saw (sic) something, may have seen the actor flee from the scene. We're looking for the public's help in any way in this case," Opferman told the station.
