Cops: Mom abandoned daughter, 7, outside Texas spa
DALLAS, Texas - A 28-year-old Dallas woman was arrested after she allegedly abandoned her seven-year-old daughter overnight outside a spa, reports CBS DFW.
Sources close to the case tell the station the girl spent the night near a dumpster outside the King Spa and Sauna in Northwest Dallas before being found near the spa Sunday morning looking for her mother, Alicia Carroll.
The spa's manager told CBS DFW Carroll pent four hours in the spa Saturday evening and was spotted on security video leaving the facility shortly after 9 p.m. with her daughter by her side.
Sources told the station that investigators believe the mother was intoxicated when she left the spa.
The manager of the spa said the mother was seen near one of the pool bars for much of the evening, and that the facility has a strict three drink policy.
The mother reportedly told authorities she had left the girl with someone else when she went to the spa.
However, CBS DFW reports the woman returned to the spa around 10 a.m. Sunday morning looking for the child. That's when police were called.
