Cops: Man crashes bike he stole, knocks out teeth
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Police say a man stole an unattended bike in Huntington Beach, Calif. and then crashed it, knocking out his own teeth, reports CBS Los Angeles.
The bike was left unattended by another man outside a BJ's Restaurant around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, authorities say.
The suspected thief, who was reportedly intoxicated, stole the bike and took off on it.
"The suspect made it a short distance (across the street) when he lost control of the bike, hit a cement trashcan, fell to the ground and knocked out some of his teeth," Huntington Beach police said in a statement.
He was located by officers and was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
The bicycle was reportedly returned to the owner.
