Cops: Fla. woman stole sex toy, asked for job in store

(CBS) CRESTVIEW, Fla. - A Tampa-area woman who asked managers at an "adult store" about working there apparently couldn't wait.

She's charged with retail theft after allegedly concealing a stolen sex toy in her pants before asking about a job, CBS Tampa Bay reported.

The unidentified woman recently went to the store - called Intimate Treasures - to leave her contact information with a supervisor in regards to possible employment opportunities, the NWF Daily News is reporting.

The manager, also unnamed, told local authorities that she noticed the same woman "manipulating the front of her pants and shirt, in an action consistent with concealing the device within her pants" while reviewing surveillance footage after noticing the toy missing from its display case

A police report obtained by the Daily News indicates that authorities confirmed the woman's identity by showing her the video. She also admitted to being "very drunk" at the time of the crime.

"As the defendant viewed her actions, she exclaimed in disbelief, 'Oh my God. Look at what I'm doing. Oh my God. I'm gonna cry," an officer wrote in the report. "After viewing the footage, the defendant retrieved the stolen device, which had been used and was no longer in a condition to be returned to the business, and advised she did not remember taking it."

The woman now has a Nov. 26 court date.
