Cops: Fla. man forced autistic kids to smoke synthetic pot, posted video on Facebook

(CBS) PALM BAY, Fla. - A father was arrested Tuesday for allegedly forcing his two autistic children to smoke synthetic marijuana and then posting a video of it on Facebook.

CBS affiliate WKMG reports that officers responding to a domestic battery call involving an elderly person found synthetic pot and a smoking pipe in Scott Crawley's apartment.

According to a police report, officers also found video posted on Facebook showing Crawley forcing his 7-year-old, who appeared nervous and scared, to smoke the synthetic marijuana.

Crawley reportedly told police he gave his children the substance to make a statement about legalizing cannabis for treating autism.

He was arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse and battery to a person 65 or older.
