Cops: Drunk woman steals car she hit - with boy, 13, inside

CHICAGO - An intoxicated Chicago woman crashed her car into another vehicle on an Illinois interstate, and then stole the vehicle she hit - with a 13-year-old boy still in the passenger seat, reports CBS Chicago.

Authorities say a man and his son were driving in a Suburban along I-80 in Illinois at about 5:30 Saturday morning when they were rear-ended by a van driven by a woman.

The man got out and was checking on the woman and the damage when, he says, she jumped into his vehicle and took off with his son in the car, reports the station.

The man called police, who then contacted the 13-year-old boy via his cell phone. The boy reportedly helped police track them down by describing landmarks they were passing.

An Indiana trooper caught up with the Suburban in Porter County. The boy was unharmed and the woman was arrested, reports CBS Chicago.

The woman is identified as 32-year-old Larona Green, of Chicago. She reportedly faces multiple charges, including drunk driving, possession of a stolen vehicle and criminal confinement.
