Cops: Calif. woman kidnapped, possibly being held for ransom

VALLEJO, Calif. - Police in Northern California say a woman was kidnapped and is possibly being held for ransom.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports Tuesday that Vallejo police Lt. Kenny Park says officers were notified by an unnamed man that 29-year-old Denise Huskins was abducted from Mare Island in Vallejo.

CBS San Francisco reports authorities say Huskins was taken against her will from a residence early on Monday.

Police did not say why they believe there is a ransom in the case.

Police said her car was taken during the kidnapping and was later found at an undisclosed location.

Huskins' cousin Amy Mattison told CBS San Francisco the residence from which Huskins was abducted is Huskins' boyfriend's home.

Vallejo police have requested the assistance of federal authorities and search teams with the Solano County Office of Emergency Services.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Vallejo Police Department at 707-648-4524.
