Cop shot dead in Louisiana convenience store, police say
LAFAYETTE, La. -- A police officer was shot to death in a Big Boy convenience store here Sunday night, reports CBS Lafayette affiliate KLFY-TV.
The station says the officer was responding to a shooting, adding that two other people were shot at the scene but their wounds weren't life-threatening. There was no word on how events unfolded.
A person of interest was taken into custody and was being questioned, State Police Public Information Officer Brooks David told KLFY.
