Conyers Subpoenas Harriet Miers

The House Judiciary Committee subpoenaed former White House counsel Harriet E. Miers and former White House political director Sara Taylor Wednesday to testify about their role in the firing of eight U.S. attorneys and in the administration’s response to the resulting controversy, Fox News is reporting.

Administration e-mails released to the judiciary panels in the House and Senate show Miers played a major role in the decision to fire the federal prosecutors and in administration’s response to questions from Congress.

The most recent batch of administration e-mails released to the committees on Tuesday show Miers and others were deeply involved in the response to congressional concerns about the firings.
