Conyers, Goodling's Attorney Squabble Over DOJ Documents
House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) and John Dowd, attorney for Monica Goodling, the former top aide to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, are clashing over what documents Goodling will produce for her appearance before Conyers' panel on Wednesday.
Dowd is refusing to supply unredacted Justice Dept. documents related to the firing of nine U.S. attorneys to the committee unless DOJ officials give her permission to do so, which as of now, they haven't done. So according to a letter Dowd sent to Conyers on Monday, she'll show up with only CDs given to her by the department.
