Coleman Calls On Stevens To Step Down
Republican Sen. Norm Coleman, locked in a tight race in Minnesota, has called on Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) to step down, Minnesota Public Radio is reporting.
"I think he's been tried and convicted, and that's the standard I set before with colleagues that have pled guilty or have been convicted, and I think that's what he should do," he said at a campaign stop.
In July, Coleman returned $20,000 of Stevens' contributions.
