Clinton: Gonna Fly Now?

For the partisan slugging between now and the November elections, President Clinton will be outfitted with nothing less than Rocky's championship gloves - and he plans to use them.

Actor Sylvester Stallone presented Mr. Clinton with the boxing gloves from the original Rocky movie at a Democratic fundraiser on his 12-acre Miami estate Thursday night.

"I can use them," President Clinton said with thanks. "I think I have established that I can take a punch; now the time is come for me to deliver a few."

The gloves were nicked and scarred by his own teeth, Stallone admitted sheepishly. As for playing host to the president for the $900,000 dinner, the movie star said with aplomb, "I shan't forget it."
