Cleese To Sell Horse Ranch In California
John Cleese, one of the founders of the Monty Python comedy troupe, is reportedly selling his sprawling Santa Barbara County horse ranch for $28 million.
The nearly 16-acre spread in Montecito is called Stalloreggi, or "King's Stables." It has a 16,000-square-foot barn, Mediterranean-style main home with three bedrooms and four bathrooms, a view of the Santa Ynez Mountains and a swimming pool, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The 67-year-old British actor-comedian and his wife, Alice Faye, bought the ranch in 1999, the newspaper said, and have another home in the area.
Cleese starred in television's "Monty Python's Flying Circus" and "Fawlty Towers." His screen credits include several Monty Python movies and 1988's "A Fish Called Wanda."
Cleese has said that he and his wife keep horses and also a menagerie of animals that includes llamas, alpacas, an emu, chinchillas and nearly a dozen cats.
