Christopher Meloni in talks for "True Blood" role

Christopher Meloni, who played Det. Stabler on "Law & Order: SVU," is in talks to join the cast of HBO's "True Blood."
TVLine reports that Meloni is being eyed for a "major role" in the show's upcoming fifth season, where he would play an "incredibly powerful vampire." The network confirmed the negotiations to TheWrap on Thursday.
The role would bring Meloni back to the small screen, following his departure from "SVU" in the spring.
