(CBS) Just days after she reportedly lost her seat on the judges panel for the U.S. version of "The X Factor," show creator Simon Cowell has announced that singer Cheryl Cole will not be returning to the lineup on the show's British edition.

Former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland will take over Cole's spot, along with Tulisa Contostavious, leader singer of the British hip hop group, N-Dubz, Louis Walsh of Take That, and longtime judge Louis Walsh.

"These four are totally up for it, each of them bring a different attitude," Cowell said in a press release Monday, according to ITV. "They have had a ton of hits between them and they are all committed to finding a star."

According to the Daily Mail, Cole, 27, refused to accept calls from Cowell and show executives after she was offered "an olive branch" to return as judge on the hit U.K. show, a post she's held since 2008.

"She hasn't returned phone calls," a source said. "And you can't exactly negotiate with someone who won't even speak to you."

Cole, a member of the British pop band Girls Aloud, was reportedly dropped last week from the judges panel on the U.S. show, which will premiere this fall on Fox, over reported concerns of her low American profile and strong northern English accent.

She will be replaced by Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, who was originally tapped to co-host with Steve Jones, according to reports. She will join Cowell, Antonio "L.A." Reid and Paul Abdul on the judging panel.
