MAUMELLE, Ark. - Firefighters have put out a chemical fire at a company that bottles nail polish remover in central Arkansas.

North Little Rock Fire Assistant Chief Steve Smith says the fire broke out Thursday morning at Onyx Laboratories plant in Maumelle, just north of Little Rock.

Smith says one employee was taken to a hospital, but he didn't have details of that person's injuries.

He says two 1,000-gallon tanks that contained acetone caught fire. Two other tanks were partially burned.

The building was used to fill bottles of nail polish remover. Workers there and at nearby businesses were evacuated.
