Central Park Robbery: 13-year-old girl charged after allegedly trying to steal a woman's cell phone

(CBS) - New York City police say they have charged a 13-year-old girl with attempted robbery after she allegedly tried to rob a woman of her cell phone in Central Park on Monday, reports CBS New York.

Police are reportedly also on the lookout for a boy who is about 11 who they believe was involved with the robbery.

The girl approached a 38-year-old woman and demanded her cell phone, police said. When she refused, a boy who appeared to be about 11 allegedly tried to grab her purse.

The girl was arrested following a tip, according to the report.
