Intimate letters sent by Princess Diana to her former lover James Hewitt were read out on a British TV documentary screened on Thursday night. During the program, filmed over a six-month period, Hewitt is seen trying to sell the love letters for 10 million GB pounds ($15 million U.S.) and even boasts about the Princess's sexual performance. Hewitt says Prince Charles would have known about Diana's relationship with him. "I think he would have been told by the security forces and other people who make it their duty to know what other people are doing," he says. He also claims the Prince of Wales should have been "grateful" for the five-year affair. "I think he would probably be grateful someone was looking after his wife when he was shagging Camilla Parker Bowles, don't you?" he says. Hewitt goes on to say: "I never wanted to be a cad, but I guess I am, so, if you've been handed a bunch of lemons, make some lemon juice." The late Princess is believed to have written more than 60 letters to Hewitt between 1989 and 1991. In one, Diana wrote: "Boy, oh boy, does the earth shake when I get a letter from my desert friend, screams of delight, tears, you name it. Demented female on the loose, that's for sure." Another said: "Me and the boys think of you lots and pray for your return."

Angelina Jolie says she doesn't have a clue why her marriage to Billy Bob Thornton failed. "I'd love to know," the "Tomb Raider" star tells People magazine in its Aug. 4 issue. She says their last interaction was on the day before her 27th birthday last June. "We got into a big fight. I haven't seen him since." The couple divorced in May, and Jolie says she hasn't rejoined the dating scene. "I have been asked out for some dinners, but I haven't said yes." She's also been publicly feuding with her father, actor Jon Voight, and has dropped Voight as her legal surname. But, Jolie tells the magazine: "I'm OK. Actually, I'm better than ever. I feel I'm finally living the life I should be living, and I haven't had that feeling before." Jolie has a 2-year-old son, Maddox, whom she adopted from a Cambodian orphanage when he was 7 months old. "My life is completely turned upside down, and yet it feels right," she said. Jolie's new film, "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life," opens July 25th.

Actress Kate Winslet and her husband, director Sam Mendes, are expecting their first baby, his publicist confirmed Friday. Winslet, who has a 3-year-old daughter, Mia, from her previous marriage to Jim Threapleton, is due to give birth in January. "They are both delighted with the pregnancy," said Chloe Dunbar of Premiere PR in London, which represents Mendes. The pair married in May, and Dunbar said they were currently on vacation in Italy. Winslet, 27, was nominated for Academy Awards for her roles in "Titanic," "Sense and Sensibility" and "Iris." Mendes, 37, won the best-director Oscar for his first film, 1999's "American Beauty."

Rolling Stones fans hoping for a glimpse of Mick Jagger's 60th birthday bash in Prague this weekend can't get no satisfaction. The Stones frontman celebrates his birthday Saturday at a secret party in the Czech capital, where the Stones perform Sunday as part of their "Licks" world tour. The party venue remains a closely guarded secret. Local media have speculated Jagger will celebrate at the British Embassy in Prague's Thun Palace or at the Four Seasons Hotel. Even former President Vaclav Havel, an invited guest, does not know where the birthday bash will be. "We will be told at the last minute," said Havel's aide, Martin Vidlak. "This is a private party under full control of Mick Jagger." Jagger is the second band member to turn 60, after drummer Charlie Watts. Guitarist Keith Richards turns 60 in December. Although the party venue remains secret, word of Havel's birthday present to Jagger has been leaked to the press: a 2-foot-high crystal vase by Havel's favorite artist, Borek Sipek. The Blesk newspaper, which published a photo of the vase, said it was intended to embody Jagger's "far-flung image, and perhaps even his soul, torn to pieces."

Oscar winner Nicole Kidman won't be playing the lead role in Lars von Trier's next two movies, part of a trilogy that started with "Dogville," because of scheduling conflicts. "We could not agree when the next movie was going to be shot," executive producer Peter Aalbaek said Thursday. "She could only do it in the fall of 2004. Our financing (for the filming) is tied to the fact that we must have completed it by the summer 2004." Von Trier's "Dogville" generated excitement at this year's Cannes Film Festival, although it didn't win any prizes. At a news conference during the festival, Kidman told the director she would appear in the next two films. No replacement was announced for the 36-year-old Kidman, who won a best-actress Oscar earlier this year for "The Hours." "Dogville," which was shot in Sweden, tells the story of a woman on the run who winds up in a small Colorado town in the 1930s.

Writer/director Robert Rodriguez is back with a third installment in his "Spy Kids" franchise, but this time there's a new twist - the movie is in 3-D. Star Antonio Banderas is excited: "A dramatic movie from the beginning to the end with 3D - that's something that is going to be very interesting ... just to see the reactions of the people. Besides, you have to remember one thing, that 3D now is not the 3D that could be presented in movie theatres 20 years ago - it's totally different. I think the kids will have a blast." Action star Sylvester Stallone, who joins the cast as the evil inventor the Toymaker, may be a movie veteran but even he found getting used to working next to a green screen something of a challenge. "At first you go 'how hard can this be?' and then you get on set and all of a sudden you get flop sweat, you start dripping inside your uniform and only you know it, but you go 'I'm a little nervous here, I'm a little scared, I'm bombing.' For those who have never been engulfed in screen, it's an experience." Cinemagoers donning special glasses to enjoy the new movie will also see a few familiar faces in the cast, including Ricardo Montalban, Salma Hayek and George Clooney, in an uncredited role. "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" hits theatres July 25th.
