CBS Makes Twitter History

In what Hollywood Reporter is calling the first of its kind, CBS announced Thursday that "The Amazing Race" has been picked up for another season with a Phil Keoghan post on the Twitter.

Hollywood Reporter says CBS made history with the first series whose renewal was announced on the popular microblogging site.

Keoghan, "The Amazing Race" host, posted the following tweet: "Great news. Just got the call from the network. CBS has ordered another season of 'The Amazing Race.'"

The daily insider journal also said CBS opted to confirm the story through Twitter rather than through the regular channels, promising that an official announcement was in the works.

This will be the 15th season of "The Amazing Race" and casting is already under way.

It has won six consecutive Emmys since its debut in 2001.

Keoghan, who has been host since the show's inception, is on a cross-country bike trip and will be stopping at casting calls in Chicago, Pittsburgh and New York.
