Catherine Zeta-Jones Preggers

Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones and Hollywood star Michael Douglas announced Friday that she is pregnant by him.

"Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are pleased to announce they are expecting a child," the couple said in a brief statement released by her publicist in Los Angeles.

"It will be the first child for Ms. Zeta-Jones. Mr. Douglas has a son, Cameron, from a previous marriage."

Reports about Zeta-Jones's pregnancy had been circulating for weeks. The couple announced their engagement to marry four weeks ago.

London's tabloid The Sun said morning sickness forced the actress to withdraw as a presenter for the Golden Globe film awards ceremony.

Zeta-Jones, 30, starred in The Mask of Zorro, Entrapment, and The Haunting.

Douglas, 55, recently announced his engagement to the raven-haired beauty on his Internet site. (Douglas charges fans $39.99 to join his official site. The money goes to charity.)

He is separated from his wife of 22 years, Diandra.
