Casey Anthony Trial Update: Defense rests, Casey won't testify
(CBS/WKMG/AP) ORLANDO, Fla. - The defense in the Casey Anthony murder trial rested Thursday afternoon without testimony from the Florida mother about the 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Casey Anthony did not take the witness stand as the defense wrapped up its case Thursday. Judge Belvin Perry asked Anthony if it was her decision not to testify. She said it was and that she has had time to discuss the matter with her attorneys, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.
The defense team's claim that Caylee accidentally drowned in the family pool will go unsubstantiated without her testimony. Prosecutors claim Casey Anthony killed the toddler in June 2008 by covering her mouth with duct tape.
Earlier in the day, the defense called Krystal Holloway, who testified that she had an intimate relationship with Casey's father George, and that he told her Caylee's death was an accident. The defense then called George Anthony, Casey's mother Cindy and her brother Lee back to the stand to question them about how the Anthony family buried their pets.
Anthony, 25, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in Caylee's death and could get the death penalty if convicted of that charge.
