Cantor Condemns His Alma Mater
Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), who attended graduate school at Columbia University, condemned his alma mater Monday for inviting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak on campus during his trip to New York.
“We know definitively that Iran is going to great lengths to arm terrorists who murder and maim our troops in Iraq," Cantor said in a release. "The fact that Columbia has rewarded the Islamic Republic’s radioactive President by making him part of a distinguished lecture series inside the United States is deeply troubling."
Cantor singles out Lee Bollinger, the university president who conducted a question-and-answer session with Ahmadinejad.
"President Bollinger’s lack of judgment and disregard for our troops in Iraq has left a stain on the reputation of Columbia University,” said Cantor.
