Candice Swanepoel to model $10M Royal Fantasy Bra for Victoria's Secret
South African supermodel Candice Swanepoel, 24, has been tapped to don this year's pricey Fantasy Bra at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
This year's sexy number, dubbed the Royal Fantasy Bra, is worth a whopping $10 million. That's a big jump from last year's $2.5 million Floral Fantasy bra worn by Alessandra Ambrosio. The 2013 royal-themed bra still isn't as expensive as one worn in 2000 by Gisele Bundchen. That year's "Red Hot Fantasy Bra" was worth $20 million.
Th Royal Fantasy Bra, which comes with a bow and matching belt, features more than 4,200 precious gems including rubies, diamonds and yellow sapphires. The stones are set in 18-carat gold with a 52-carat ruby at the center. The royal-themed lingerie comes in the midst of a busy year for the British royal family as Prince William and Duchess Kate gave birth to their first childthis summer.
Several Victoria's Secret Angels have sported the fantasy bra through the years, starting in 1996 with Claudia Schiffer's Million Dollar Miracle Bra. Miranda Kerr wore one in 2011, Bundchen donned it twice (in 2000 and 2005), and Heidi Klum showed different versions off in 1999, 2001 and 2003.
The 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show tapes in New York on Nov. 13 and will air Dec. 10 on CBS at 10 p.m. ET. Models expected to walk to runway include Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge, Candice Swanepoel, Lindsay Ellingson, Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Behati Prinsloo and others. The lingerie runway show will feature performances and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the world's most celebrated fashion show.
