Ex-high school teacher facing charges she had relationship with girl

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Police in southern California say a former teacher at a high school for the arts is facing allegations she had a months-long inappropriate relationship with a girl who attended the school.

Camryn Zelinger, 32, of Corona was taken into custody Monday by Riverside police on charges of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor and annoying or molesting a child under 18, reports CBS Los Angeles.

Zelinger reportedly taught at the Encore High School for the Arts in Riverside, where the girl is a student.

According to Riverside police, the student told investigators the inappropriate relationship lasted for a few months. Investigators determined that there was “inappropriate physical contact and communication” between Zelinger and the girl, reports the station.

Zelinger is no longer employed by Encore High School, police said.
